CyberMedia Dice Careers Ltd. is a technology focused job board dedicated to the rapidly growing technology recruiting sector inIndia. The mission at CyberMedia Dice is to help its clients (Employers and Job-Seekers) source and hire qualified technology and engineering professionals.
Challenges :
Since Cybermedia Dice is a new initiative in India in partnership with Dice.com, the challenges of setting up of a similar infrastructure in India was highly critical. Sourcing a Hosting Partner who could provide a world-class infrastructure with guaranteed uptimes, unmatched service quality in India was of utmost importance.
The challenges were:
Identifying a World-Class Data Center in India.
Identifying a Partner who could provide an End-to-End solution that would mean procuring hardware/ software, installation, deployment & maintenance, co-location and managed services.
With an eye on future growth, a 'scalable' architecture was of paramount importance.
Presence of a robust and redundant domestic network with international gateways that could take the load of huge traffic generated from the job portal.
Latency reduction was also an integral part of the mandate.
The development project for job portal was done by the Bangalore based Nous Infosystems.Sify had to work in association and as a team with them to ensure fulfillment of the Solution Architecture.
The Sify Solution :
Sizing: Sify in sync with Cybermedia Dice's Technology Partner (Nous Infosystems) proposed the sizing for the Hardware and the other Managed Services in the Data Center. A range of Intel servers from Dell and Netapp Storage (NAS) was procured, installed and deployed at Sify's Level 3 Data Center at Vashi, Mumbai. The same is maintained and monitored round the clock by our skilled engineers.
Hosting Services: On the Hosting Services front a number of services were recommended. Besides basic 'rack space' which includes 24/7 support, server availability monitoring, DNS entries, service port monitoring, server hardening, network intrusion detection systems, bandwidth sizing was done on a 'pay-as-you-grow' model.
Security and Storage Services: Setting up of the NAS, Back-up services, managed shared-firewall services, and Sify in-house developed specialized security service 'Fort Knox' were also proposed and subscribed.Data Center Security Umbrella: The Sify Data Center at Vashi is BS7799 certified which ensures implementation of stringent security practices.
On the virtual security front, Sify has a built-in Firewall at the Core Switch through which all traffic enters the Data Center. A world class intrusion detection system and anti-virus is also deployed to provide fool-proof security to the applicationsand servers hosted at the Data Center.
