Godrej & Boyce entrusts enterprise connectivity to Sify Background:

Godrej & Boyce (G&B), the Rs.1365 Cr. conglomerate, are market leaders in Appliances, Furnitures and Interiors, Security equipment, locks, storage solutions etc. with an employee strength of 9500 (including 2500 in sales and service) and over a 1000 wholesale dealers. Godrej Infotech was to architect a VPN-based networking solution which would connect Godrej and Boyce's business ecosystem.

Challenges in G&B's existing connectivity:

The major deliverables of the connectivity exercise entrusted to Sify was call tracking and update mechanism. The objective was to ensure that the end user receives reports on history of calls, status of calls etc. Critical parameters which would realize the above objectives were performance of last mile connectivity and extent of network uptimes.

G&B's leased line & broadband solutions for remote locations was made possible by Sify. The network architecture connects geographically distant areas like Delhi, Lucknow, Jaipur, Mohali, Chandigarh, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Patna, Ranchi, Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, Guwahati, Chennai, Bangalore, Cochin, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Vizag, Pune, Shirval, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Ahmedabad.

Reliability and redundancy, were identified as core issues in G&B's connectivity infrastructure. Sify provided leased line and broadband solutions for remote locations. The leased lines were backed up with ISDN and for some remote locations, PSTN links were also provided.
