Sify at NASSCOM 2004

The much looked forward annual event of the apex body of the IT industry took place in Mumbai from February 3rd to 5th with participation from about 14 countries. Speaking at the inaugural, Mr. Som Mittal, Chairman, NASSCOM and President & CEO, Digital Global Ltd. said, "In the next three days, leading think-tanks, analysts, consultants, government functionaries and decision makers from across the globe will discuss the global economic landscape, views on Indian economy and the win-win nature of offshore outsourcing."

This year's Nasscom was more high-powered than ever, with Sify's broadband connectivity for the entire conference, the media room, the speaker's lounge and exhibitors at The Oberoi Towers, Mumbai. In addition, Sify set up an iWay cyber cafe chain for conference delegates to stay in touch with distant offices in India and overseas with high-speed broadband access, as well as Net telephony services.

The highlight of the services provided by Sify was the Video Conference provisioned for the opening panel discussion, conducted by Govindaraj Ethiraj of CNBC

on 'What it takes to belong to the billion dollar club'. The panelists, who included Mr. S. Ramadorai of TCS and Satyam
Computer's Chairman Ramalinga Raju, at the Oberoi Towers in Mumbai were seamlessly connected to Mr. Vivek Paul at Wipro's Mountain View, California offices for the entire period of the panel discussion using Sify's video conferencing service over the Internet.
