Report on the state of VPN Services in India
IDC report states SIFY as the clear
cut market leader in Virtual private networks in India.
In a report published recently by IDC, it states that
“SIFY is the clear cut leader in the VPN market
space . The first private ISP that has the experience
as well as the expertise to handle the Virtual Private
networks of the Corporates. It has the largest market
share and commands the highest respect about it services
from its clients.”
Given below is the details on how
the survey was taken. IDCs Leadership
Grid is used to define the positioning of each VPN player.It
is a simple and effective way of graphically portraying
a companys market positioning and potential.Companies
in a single market are evaluated according to the same
criteria, making it easy to compare competitors across
a number of common characteristics. IDC assings a score
for each criterion, and the average score will be used
to determine the companys positioning on the grid. Rating
comes in the scale of 1-10 with 1 being the lowest and
10 being the highest given
The leadership Grid is divided into
four quadrants niche, crisis, potential, legacy and
leadership. Each of the quadrants expresses a position
in the market segment related to delivery channels and
each player is positioned according to their level of
oppurtunity, alingment and ability to gain marketshare
The oppurtunity Alingment (X-Axis)
represents qualities that have contributed to the companys
current position in the market showing where it is today
and how it got there. The ability to gain share (Y-Axis)
represents qualities that are most likely to affect
the company’s in going forward.
