Sify Limited Celebrates Its Fifth Anniversary on NASDAQ

The CEO & MD of Sify Mr. R. Ramaraj opened the NASDAQ Stock Market to celebrate the company's five-year listing anniversary on 19th Oct. 2004. The event recognized Sify as the first Indian Internet Company to have achieved this milestone on Nasdaq.

Highlighting the role of NASDAQ, Mr Ramaraj said, "The successful listing on the Nasdaq in October 1999 played a critical role in Sify emerging as the leading Internet and Network services company in India, attracting the best talent, clients and customers. We're excited because this event comes at the same time of the launch of our Global Infrastructure Management Services, for which we already have a number of significant customer wins in the U.S. In conjunction with this event, we will be participating in a series of investor meetings in order to establish a dialogue with U.S. investors as part of our ongoing efforts to build shareholder value."

Sify leverages its technological expertise to deliver multiple services to both corporates and consumers over a state-the-art service infrastructure that incorporate world-class systems, standards and processes across the backbone, network operating centers and Level 3 data centers. The network is managed with software developed by Sify, along with mature, highly reliable processes that are accredited and recognized. Today, Sify has extensive experience in operating 24/7 mission critical services, and in remotely managing complex IT infrastructure in a production environment. It is this core competence that enables Sify to offer International Infrastructure Management Services to corporates across the globe.

Sify has grown at a 46% Compounded Annual Growth Rate since its listing in 1999, from revenues of $14 million in 1999-2000 to $61 million in 2003-2004. Sify was recently given the 2003 Market Leadership Award for IPVPN markets by Frost & Sullivan, and operates more than 2000 of its 'iWay' brand cyber cafés across 67 cities in India. The Company used its technological capability to develop customer friendly products and services for corporations and consumers, becoming the leader in practically every line of its business.

Sify participates in CONNECT 2004

Sify participated in the Connect 2004, an Enterprise ICT event held in the Chennai Trade Centre between 22nd & 25th Sept. 2004. Connect 2004, had 106 exhibitors occupying an exhibition space of 4,000 sq.m with focus on four ICT conferences on three broad verticals of manufacturing, services and e-governance during the event.

"Besides offering a business to business forum for service providers, Connect 2004 is a platform to explore all enterprise ICT products, solutions, technology and services,' said Mr. R. Ramaraj, Managing Director, Sify and Co-Chairman, Connect 2004.

Around 70 per cent of the exhibitors were repeat participants with all leading ICT brands coming under one roof to offer corporate India an opportunity to assess the domestic capabilities vis-a-vis international competition in software and IT-enabled services. Mr. Ramaraj said there will a thrust on small and medium business (SMBs) with the exhibition of low cost solutions and products from such companies at Connect 2004.

Conferences on wireless connectivity, e-governance, IT on manufacturing (SmartMan) and i Serve on solutions for services, held during the exhibition attracted key speakers that included Dr Ashok Jhunjhunwala of IIT Madras; Azim Premji, Wipro; Dr Noshir Khory, Motorola, USA; Lalit Yagnik, IBM Singapore; S Mahalingam, TCS; Ashok Tyagi, GE Capital; Ramanathan Ramanan, CMC Limited and Pradipta K Mohapatra, RPG Enterprises. Besides this galaxy of professionals, IT Secretaries and delegates from State governments and Centre led by R Chandrasekhar, Joint Secretary, E Governance and Pankaj Agrawala, Joint Secretary, IT Department also participated actively in the expo.

The four-day IT exposition jointly promoted by CII and State government attracted nearly 10,000 business delegates and over 50,000 general visitors. It offered a useful forum for interaction between governments, industry and business dealers in software sector.

Sify took up one of the largest pavilions in the expo and was represented by its Consumer Access and Enterprise Solutions Division. The enterprise Solutions division showcased its entire range of Connectivity, Applications and security solutions through informative panels. The applications divison's latest offerings - Document Imaging and Anti Spam products attracted visitors to the stall. Films on the products and solutions of the Enterprise Solutions division provided a glimpse of enterprises which can be connected effortlessly and run applications seamlessly
