Business challenge : Being at the top is also to be exposed to unparalleled challenges. Among the multiple business challenges Avaya GolbalConnect had to face was a high rate of spamming in its prevailing set up. It needed a reliable anti-spam service to support the high e-mail traffic across locations. Avaya Global at the same time did not want to make any change in the mail server which was being used. Sify took up this challenge as its own and firewalled all spamming against Avaya GlobalConnect in a manner only it can do.
The solution : Sify co-located a dedicated anti-spam appliance at its data center. It was linked to the captive mail server at Avaya Globalconnect. The link from the mailserver was extended to the end users of Avaya Global. Sify at its data center had a fall back server to ensure high availability. Firewall was set up to ward off any internet cloud . This very effective anti-spam system is fully managed and operated by Sify with upgrade based on usage.
