Brief
description
Ranbaxy uses this
network for running their SAP ERP applications
across the country. The central SAP servers are
located in Delhi, which the various offices of
Ranbaxy and their stockists need to reach on a
real time basis for transacting business. Ranbaxy
also uses Internet Bandwidth for providing Internet
access to their offices as well as deploying web
based applications.
Sify has helped
Ranbaxy in creating the countrywide network by
using Virtual Private Network technology. The
different offices and C&F agents of Ranbaxy
connect to their local Sify Network Operation
Center in the same city by using different kinds
of connectivity options, such as Leased line at
the central location, ISDN lines and PSTN dial-up
lines. Sify in turn connects them seamlessly to
the central location of Ranbaxy where the main
servers are hosted. Sify also provides Ranbaxy
with premium internet bandwidth at two locations
in Delhi and one location in Mumbai.
Since some of the
offices of Ranbaxy have very low volume of data
transaction, Sify has provided these offices with
local PSTN dial-up connectivity, thus making the
solution a commercially attractive one as well.
Key
advantages

of continuous network monitoring 24 hours
a day, 365 days a year. This includes fault
management as well as performance management
of the network. However, they do not have
to invest in additional manpower for the same.
- Ranbaxy does not have to worry
about upgrading their links as and when their
traffic grows, as Sify will provide easy scalability
of their bandwidth.
- Ranbaxy is capable of concentrating
on running their core business application
while the difficult task of keeping the network
up and running is done by Sify on an ongoing
basis.
- As and when Ranbaxy wishes
to expand, they can do so by simply connecting
the new location to the nearest Sify link.
