Sify had pioneered in the deployment of its online examination engine-Sify iTest for its clients for conducting the online examinations and the recruitment drives. The software application is developed by Sify and strategically deployed through iWays, the largest chain of cyber cafes in the country.

Combining technology with the Sify Iway Service excellence. The entire process is simple and fast for both the candidates and the institution. The candidates just walk in to the designated IWay with their admit cards to write the exam. The examination environment is highly secure with hack proof mechanisms in the IWay. All the sites except for the examination site are blocked and the question papers are also generated randomly for each of the candidate. It also reduces the anxiety level of the candidates because of the instant results after the examination. The online examination engine will be hosted at Sify's Level 3 Internet Data Center (IDC) with the state of the art facilities. The test engine would be hosted on highly sophisticated hardware to ensure robustness and that the entire load can be handled

Another variant of the engine is for the recruitment process for various companies. The company specifies the Iway through advertisements for the walk in interview. Aspiring candidates walk-in to the Iway register their details and go through various rounds of interview -voice assessment, online aptitude tests, typing tests, Personal Interview - all managed remotely by the company. After the successful completion of all the eligibility criteria, the candidate leaves with an offer letter.
